Except for Benedict Slade,
and he has a lot to learn.

In this update of Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol," Victorian London is transformed to 1933 Concord, New Hampshire and recounts the adventures of a more modern Scrooge, Benedict Slade, as portrayed by Henry Winkler.

In this adaptation, Slade is the president of a finance company who ruins the Christmas hopes of his creditors by mercilessly repossessing their most prized goods and firing his faithful assistant, Thatcher (R. H. Thomson), on Christmas Eve.

As in Dickens' original version, the selfish Slade is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, who take him on a late night journey to discover the true spirit of Christmas. In the end, Slade gives up his miserly ways and sets out on Christmas morning to spread his newfound holiday cheer and goodwill toward men.
